Single's Nancheng

I don't usually eat this kind of food anymore but one day I was super hungry and passed by this place that is literally downstairs from my place. Nobody was inside so I decided to take a seat on the terrace. Staff seamed pretty nice and as soon as I sat down they offered me water. I said , OK , this should be a normal thing getting water while you are waiting for your food. Ordered the food , didn't take too long as usual cause last time I ate here I was pretty disappointed , they forgot about my order and I was super hungry. I am not a very jumpy person in real life but I have my exceptions. One of the exceptions are when I am hungry, the other one I will not say.  So getting back to my adventure, the food came quite fast and as soon as I got the first burger , I realized that this is not what I imagined to be. Anyway that wasn't the thing I wanted to write about but I already did it and I hate to press backspace so I will go on . Everything good , I managed to eat the frozen mini burgers and the chips but when I got to the salad , that just made me sick. I could feel the sugar that that sauce contained and I decided not to eat it at all. Finished my food , I started to connect my brain to reality again because this is what I get when I don't eat in time so I ask for the bill. The dish price was 48 RMB and the bill was 51 RMB. I stop and think , what the hell did I eat extra for 3 RMB ? I was pretty sure that it was the napkins cause in China you will be amazed by the fact that mostly every restaurant you go to that is a little bit nicer than street food , don't give you tissue at all, they make you pay 1 RMB for a pack of tissue. But that's  1 RMB, not that I am stingy but what the hell ? I ask the waiter and what does he tell me?  You drank the water... the water is 3 RMB. Can you imagine paying for water from a glass container that is refilled probably from the tap.

Yeah, and that's me taking a self portrait that is not even a portrait. I can't spell selfie cause it's not in google's dictionary.

Mornings in Cochan coffee shop

I love waking up early in the morning and run to my favorite coffee place where I always order 2 things : An Iced  Mocha Coffee and when I am done with that I get a Jasmine Milk Tea. Both amazing drinks made by the same guy every day who smiles when he brings me the coffee and makes my day amazing. Hope it doesn't sounds weird ... it's just that we can't really communicate and we just smile and say "thanks" . The music is amazing here and it's just a breath of fresh air even that the coffee shop is full of smoke most of the time.

There are many good things about this coffee place. It was the second coffee shop in Dongguan and now it's first on my morning list. Other thing is that most of the time I forget to pay and I get an emoji with a smiley face and I understand that I have to pay so we have this cool app that allows us to pay directly trough the phone and this solves my problem in an instant.

This is one of the things that I will not understand

The coffee guy
Sometimes is so noisy in here when the boss starts playing cards with his friends and you can't hear yourself thinking but I kind of got used to it. In China as a foreigner you have to get used with the weird and loud sounds. I had a really tough time getting used to this but I got by not long time ago. I am not going to tell you the secret because you wouldn't even understand it. Overall this coffee shop became a part of my life.

Love you Cochan's coffee. Thanks for waking me up every day.

Dogs, we all love them

So because I just started my blog and I am in a coffee shop near my home in Dongguan I will give you guys another post just cause I am stuck in this place due to a very angry taifun that Dongguan is experiencing right now.
The reason this topic name start with dogs is that we all know that dogs are some of the most kind and loyal animals on this planet. Some would say it's not true but let's go with what I said cause I am writing this story :))
Seems that not all nations agree with the fact that dogs are not to be eaten so I give you a very delicious(I think) , dog roast
Roasted Dog
Yes what you see here is what we've talked about above. So I had to stop and take a picture. This was taken in a supermarket downstairs from where I work. I desperately sent the picture to all my Chinese friends and they all confirmed that this is what I was thinking about.
To understand this , you must be either Asian either die of hunger, fact what happened in China about 100 years ago when people didn't have food. But that reason isn't enough because this country has over 1.3 billions people and everybody has to eat , solutions had to be found. I promise you that I didn't touch anything with my knowing that sounded or looked like a dog. They say that everything that moves and has eyes is good to eat. A true story is that in the north of China where life isn't so fancy and rich like the south, people catch stray dogs and tie them to a restaurant's door . The owner of the restaurant has 2 options , either pay the man and save the dog or cook the dog and that's it.
Lucky me this things don't happen in the south where life is pretty normal and you have a variety of foods.
Don't forget me , box of stories just opened .

Welcome to China

Everything we know about Chinese culture is mostly wrong. For people who read stories about  the fact that they eat everyday rice. Asians in general are big fans of food, either is Asian food or foreign they will try it at least once. I wasn't a big fan of Asian food before coming to China, in fact I despised Asian food. I was a really big fan of BBQ and heavy food that makes you fat but it's so delicious that you just can't stay away. All that changed not long time ago and I've been in China for 2 years now. Yes it took me a long time to accept this kind of food that I haven't imagined ever that I will even come close to it.

Shrimp and meat in a dumpling with vegetables all in a delicious soup with noodles
This is one of my favorite dishes in China. My girlfriend took me to this weird place and she said : "You have to try this". I was very skeptic about the place and I asked : "Is it safe to eat here?" .
She replied: "I eat here all the time and I'm fine". I want to point out that their digestive system is adjusted to this kind of foods and they can eat almost everything. So I tried and it came out that I loved it till the last noodle, I even asked for another dish. The price for this is 28 RMB - 4.14$ (2016). Maybe I will remind you in my other posts that the Chinese food that you get in your countries is adapted to our everyday life so everybody can eat.
If you ever had this dish please leave a comment and tell me your opinion about it.
